Conhece o Hounds & Harlots? Pois deveria. O grupo é novo, de 2009, mas os caras além de já estarem em seu segundo álbum, vem de outras bandas punk da região de São Francisco, California. Fora tudo isso, vamos ao prático: "The Good Fight" é street-punk, de refrões sing-along, com senso pop e bastante energia. Podemos citar os Bastards de Lars Frederiksen como uma referência, Bouncing Souls poderia ser outra, mas seria até injustiça coloca-los em comparação. Dentro da esfera dos 3 acordes e da cozinha levada, eles fazem bem, inclusive fazendo bom uso dos clichês do estilo.
Punk rock, hardcore, oi!, referências diversas, e principalmente, boas. E nas 12 músicas do disco pelo menos uma pérola, o hit-single "Divisadero". Se essa não te fisgar, desista. Você vai ouvir abaixo.
O Hounds & Harlots, ao lado do Harrington Saints, poderiam fazer uma linha de frente de uma nova onda Oi! californiana, onde a tradição e o som moderno se completam. Ambos são belíssimos exemplos de que o sangue novo pode sim pagar tributo e ainda assim criar algo com frescor de novidade. |

Kurz und knackig die Begrüßung, die obligatorische Beglückwünschung zu ein paar freien Tagen, jaja, der Schnee nervt und wie soll es denn in Zypern weitergehen? Zypern, das klingt immer wie ein Musikinstrument aus dem Erzgebirge, steht aber anscheinend doch nur für Fetakäse, Oliven und arme Schweine die irgendwie nur 300 EUR am Tag abheben dürfen. Das zumindest habe ich nebenher im Radio aufgeschnappt, wie auch immer, Herzlich Willkommen zu den CONTRA NEWS!
